 A Carolina Jewel: Reflections on PlayMakers’ History and Its Future

Vivienne Benesch, Producing Artistic Director of the PlayMakers Repertory Company, will share some behind-the-scenes tales of the PlayMakers and offer her vision for the future of this nationally renowned company.  Founded in 1976 as the UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Dramatic Art’s professional theater, PRC has been praised as the “Best Live Theater Company in the Triangle” by the Independent Weekly and as “What ‘professional theatre’ truly means” by the News & Observer.  The program is being held in conjunction with the exhibition Setting the Stage at PlayMakers Repertory Company: 40+ Years of Magic on display in the North Carolina Collection Gallery through March 4, 2018.
