The Dresher Center for the Humanities at UMBC invites applications for a new Visiting Faculty Fellowship program from scholars who are committed to diversity and the advancement of groups historically underrepresented in the professoriate. Part of the Dresher Center’s Inclusion Imperative Program funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, this regional program is open to full-time faculty doing humanities research at colleges and universities in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

Pennsylvania History Article wins MARAC Custer Prize

The Pennsylvania Historical Association is pleased to announce that an article appearing in the Spring 2017 issue of its journal, Pennsylvania History: A Journal of Mid-Atlantic Studies has been awarded the 2017 Arline Custer Memorial Award from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference (MARAC). “'The High Price of Living': The Lives of Insolvent Laborers in Jacksonian-Era Cumberland County," by Dr. Michael B.

Special World War I Issues of Pennsylvania History now Available

Pennsylvania History: A Journal of Mid-Atlantic Studies proudly announces that both editions of its two-part special theme of “Pennsylvania and the Great War” are now available. The issues, Summer (84.3) and Fall (84.4) are guest edited by Dr. Barbara Gannon of the University of Central Florida. Contents cover a wide array of topics relating to how Pennsylvanians dealt with World War I, at home and abroad. Also featured are color images of artifacts and documents from museums around the Commonwealth.
