2021 James A. Barnes Graduate History Conference Through Temple University

The 26th Annual James A. Barnes Graduate History Conference will be held over Zoom across April 9-10, 2021. The event is one of the largest and most prestigious graduate student conferences in the region, showcasing work from participants around the United States and the world. 

Pennsylvania and the 1918-1919 Pandemic

Hi all,

Sharing a project that may be of interest.  Library staff who are working remotely during the pandemic have been monitoring reports published in Pennsylvania newspapers about the 1918 pandemic .  Each week a half-dozen articles are selected reflecting the experiences of Pennsylvanians - not just about the pandemic but other issues of the day.   Articles selected for the week of Oct. 6-12 include notices of school closings, discussions of women's suffrage, prohibition, and advice to wear a gas mask  and avoid crowds to ward off the rising influenza threat!
