Hill make a presentation, “Invisible Hawkeyes: African Americans at the University of Iowa during the Long Civil Rights” at the State Historical Society of Iowa, Centennial Building, 402 Iowa Avenue in Iowa City. The program is free and open to the public.

The Fall 2016 issue of The Annals of Iowa--a special issue on women in Iowa journalism--is now available.
A Midwest fall country school preservation will be held in the Scott County Conservation Park north of Eldridge, Iowa, on October 14-15. The conference is designed to help persons interested in preserving a country school (one- and two-room buildings) and developing program activities at those buildings. Researchers, authors, photographers, and those wishing to learn more the role these schools have played in Iowa’s history and culture are welcome to attend.
