A Midwest fall country school preservation will be held in the Scott County Conservation Park north of Eldridge, Iowa, on October 14-15. The conference is designed to help persons interested in preserving a country school (one- and two-room buildings) and developing program activities at those buildings. Researchers, authors, photographers, and those wishing to learn more the role these schools have played in Iowa’s history and culture are welcome to attend.
Program presentations will be held during the day and evening on Friday. A tour of area preserved schools, other historic buildings and the Buffalo Bill museum will be held on Saturday.
