Podcast Review Guidelines

Greetings all,

We want to announce that we now have Podcast Review Gudelines. Please check them out and let us know what you think.

I will start to reach out to people this week who volunteered to review podcasts.

Categories: Podcast, H-Net Reviews

BTW you can locate the guidelines under "H-Podcast Resources."

Someone brought up an issue with the review guidelines. Yelena and I thought we should point it out to our network subscribers for a conversation.

The last item on the Review Guidelines item #8:

Production quality, inventiveness, and interactivity can be explored in the podcast review if these are important elements of the podcast. However, reviewers should likewise be cognizant of the different forms of institutional funding and support that different podcasts receive, and be sure to consider whether a podcast is produced independently, with minimal institutional support, or with the support of a commercial network.

How do you feel about keeping in mind not all production of podcasts are equally funded? Does anyone have any recommendations for how to address this in a review? We'd like to learn your thoughts on this.
