Our presenter this month will be Laura Clark (The University of Queensland; Showa Women's University), who will present her work on discourses of normality and contemporary Japanese fiction (details below).

On Friday, October 23rd at 4:00 PM PST, three esteemed scholars will be featured as panelists in a webinar that focuses on current events related to the Chinese diaspora. Organized to launch the Zoryan Institute’s newest publication, The Chinese Diaspora: Its Development in Global Perspective, volume co-editor Lok Siu will be joined by Prof. Min Zhou of UCLA, and Prof. Chris Lee of the University of British Colombia, to contextualize the importance of this book in today’s global climate among geopolitical competition, COVID-19, and more.
