International Conference Heritage Conservation along the Belt and Road Zones: Between Politics and Professionalism
The International Conference on “Heritage Conservation Along the Belt and Road Zones: Between Politics and Professionalism”, to be held on 23-24 October 2020. The conference is supported by a grant under the Inter-Institutional Development Scheme (IIDS) administered by the Research Grants Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Project No. IIDS14-H03-19).
The conference will feature two keynote speech sessions by distinguished scholars in heritage conservation - Prof Tim Winter (University of Western Australia) and Mr Tim Williams (University College London). In addition, there are 5 panel sessions (2 local panels on 23 October and 3 non-local panels on 24 October) bringing 17 scholars in the field to share their research on heritage conservation. The detailed programme can be found in the website.
The current plan is for local (Hong Kong) panels to be conducted in face-to-face mode with live internet broadcast while non-local panels on 24 Oct will be entirely conducted via ZOOM. If the Covid-19 pandemic situation remains under control, it may be possible for local participants to join face-to-face sessions on 23 Oct. Further details will be announced in due course.
