Are you a U.S. faculty member or university administrator interested in hosting a cohort of junior scholars from Egypt, Lebanon, or Iraq? Take advantage of this unique opportunity to establish relationships with academics at universities abroad and build upon current efforts to internationalize your campus and community.

The Institute of International Education (IIE) invites U.S. campuses to apply to host cohorts of scholars from the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program for Iraq sponsored by the U.S Embassy in Baghdad, and the Fulbright Junior Faculty Development Programs (JFDP) for Lebanon and Egypt, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. These 10-week summer programs are designed to bring junior faculty to the U.S. for faculty development, mentoring and cultural exchange activities. Program components include:

  • Arrival orientation
  • Academic program focused on teaching methodology, curriculum development, pedagogy, U.S. higher education, research methodology, and grant proposal writing
  • Various cultural, host family, and community engagement activities
  • Scholar mentorship by U.S. host institution faculty

U.S. host institutions are to submit a proposal to host a cohort of 5-7 scholars in one of the disciplines outlined below for each program.
