The UC Berkeley Center for Ethnographic Research is offering an Intensive Ethnography Workshop this summer. The workshop provides mentorship, hands-on field experience, and advanced training in designing and executing a project using participant observation. Participants will be coached through all the components of a research project. The workshop includes individualized consultations with faculty and is designed for advanced graduate students, faculty, and professionals. The workshop is from July 22-27, Monday – Friday, 9-5, with research exercises and consultations scheduled during these hours. There will be a welcome dinner on Sunday evening 7/22. Sliding scale: $900-2,000. The workshop is limited to 15 participants so that everyone receives individual attention. Review of applications will begin February 1st and will be conducted on a rolling basis thereafter until the workshop is full. More information and application form here. (Please note that we also have a six-week undergraduate workshop though the dates have not yet been set for this summer.)
