CALL FOR PAPERS - LITERATURE AND MIGRATION

The journal ANNALI DI CA’ FOSCARI, published by the Department of Linguistic and Comparative Culture Studies, Ca’ Foscari University (Venice, Italy), is seeking essays for a special issue on LITERATURE AND MIGRATION in European countries; the Americas; across the Mediterranean, from African countries to Europe.

Possible topics of interest: the theme of migration in a contemporary novel, detective fiction, children’s literature; autobiographies or fiction by migrants; a single major author or work of fiction dealing with migration, the trials of crossing borders, migration and critical race theory, gender issues across the Mediterranean, the Mediterranean as cemetery and archive, the theme of migration in relation to other issues such as universal rights, the right to asylum, the European Union.   

DUE Date for abstracts (350 words):  December 30, 2019

REPLY TO CONTRIBUTORS: January 15, 2020

DUE DATE for submission of essay: April 15, 2020

DUE DATE for double blind peer review: May 30, 2020

DUE DATE for submission of revised essay: July 30, 2020

Essays may be in English, Spanish, French, German, or Italian, should be max. 7,000 words in length excluding notes, and formatted according to the MLA style sheet. The work must be original and not previously published.
