Die internationale Tagung ‚UpSideDown – Circus and Space’ reflektiert die Frage nach dem Raum im Kontext des traditionellen, neuen und zeitgenössischen Zirkus aus dem Blickwinkel der Kultursemiotik und bezieht weitere Raumtheorien mit ein. Ziel der Tagung ist es, die Erkenntnisse der ersten deutschen Tagung zur zirzensischen Kunst ‚Semiotics of the Circus’ (2015) zu vertiefen.

Folgende Themen stehen dabei im Fokus:

  • Manege, Bühne, Straße – Zirkus und Aufführungsraum
  • Horizontale, Vertikale, Schwerkraft – Zirkus und Raumbewegung
  • Grenzen, Barrieren, Horizonte – Zirkus und Kulturelle Räume
