The German Studies program at the University of Connecticut is offering a stipend of approximately $25.000 per year plus $4.000 fellowship for a two-year MA Program in German Studies starting in August 2022. Our Program is home to 5 faculty members, currently 55 majors, and 8 graduate students from different countries, including China, Nigeria, Poland, Germany, and the United States. The program has gained a national and international reputation for excellent scholarship, two dual degree programs that merge STEM/MINT and Business with the Humanities, EUROTECH and EUROBIZ, and a curricular focus that integrates the teaching of intercultural citizenship, social justice, human rights, and digital scholarship on every level of instruction. The faculty are active in numerous professional organizations, serve in various positions across campus, and are heavily involved in mentorship, curricular development, and research. Graduate and undergraduate students are together the key builders of our German Studies community, join networks within and beyond campus, adding significantly to research and teaching with innovative contributions while shaping their career paths. Recent Graduates have embarked on tenured positions (for example, Wayne State University, University of Rhode Island, and Utrecht University of Applied Sciences), continued in prestigious PhD programs (e.g., Cornell University, Johns Hopkins University, and University of Texas Austin), or embarked on careers in translation, education or communication. The program benefits greatly from the Connecticut/Baden-Württemberg partnership and is also involved with the Connecticut/Baden-Württemberg Human Rights Research Consortium.
