The Society for Romanian Studies (SRS) is H-Romania's affiliate organization. SRS established H-Romania to promote the field of Romanian Studies across disciplines as well as to increase the reach of SRS. Through SRS, H-Romania also has close ties with the Romanian Studies Association of America. H-Romania's Advisory Board and Editorial team are comprised of primarily of SRS members.

The society holds annual meetings to promote Romanian studies, generally in conjunction with the meetings of the Association for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies, publishes a newsletter to keep its membership informed, and carries out other activities designed to foster advancement of the field.
