INQ: Social history of tea among Indigenous peoples and European traders/settlers/explorers in Colonial Canada

I’m researching the social history of tea among Indigenous peoples and European traders/settlers/explorers in Colonial Canada and am seeking historical references to the following:

  • Indigenous tea culture – tisanes used for medicinal purposes, social ritual, epicurean importance; European uses of Indigenous tisanes
  • The incorporation of European tea material culture (particularly ceramics) and European teas into Indigenous diets, everyday life, ritual

I have come across some mentions in HBC fur trade records and captivity narratives that indicate the consumption and trade of tea but I would be grateful for some direction in archives/fonds or direct references to find this information"
