Registration ends on Friday 31st August for ‘Books, Readers, and Reading’ a conference to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the Leeds Library.

Day rates are £65 per day (Thurs/Fri) or £30 (Sat).  
 
Full registration (3-day rate Thurs 20th - Sat 22nd Sep) costs £150 for students, postgraduate students, and Leeds Library members.
 
Full registration for all other delegates costs £160.
 
The conference features over 80 speakers from 13 countries who will be presenting papers on a diverse range of subjects including: libraries, the history of reading and readers, literary forms and genres, the future of the book and the library, the history of books and the material production and the culture of the book.
 
The keynote speakers are:
 
Professor Kate Flint (University of Southern California): ‘Composing, Reading, and Decomposing the Victorian Book of Nature’.
 
Professor Ian Gadd (Bath Spa University) ‘The Ambient Book’.
 
Professor N. Katherine Hayles (Duke University): ‘The Future of Writing in the Digital Age’.
 
There is also an anniversary dinner on Friday 21st September. Tickets cost £50 and include a welcome drink, a 3-course meal, tea/coffee and chocolates, and ½ bottle wine per person, as well as an after-dinner speech by the renowned Yorkshire poet, journalist, playwright and broadcaster Ian McMillan. Ticket sales for the anniversary dinner end on 10 September.
