H-Material Culture seeks new content editors and contributors to support this growing network. Currently, we have a need for the following:

  • Social Media Editor: manage our twitter feed, assist the Network Editor-in-Chief with curating and editing our network blog, and work with the editorial team to develop new content (if desired)
  • Teaching Resources Editor: curate supplemental reading lists, syllabi, and other related resources to share with the network, contribute to the network blog (as desired)
  • Blog contributors: Guest contributors are needed to write short posts (500 words or so) for our Occasional Objects blog.  You may contribute once, or you might choose to be a regular contributor-- it's up to you!

H-Material Culture is a growing network with approximately 2,500 subscribers, and formal affiliations with the Material Culture Caucus of the American Studies Association (ASA) and the International Society for Landscape, Place, and Material Culture.   Editorships are a great way to get involved in your field, to network with other scholars, and to gain professional exposure and development while providing a needed service to the profession.  Blog contributions would be perfect for emerging professionals, collectors, seasoned scholars, and even students.

To apply, please send a short note indicating your interest, along with a brief CV, to editorial-material-culture@mail.h-net.msu.edu. We welcome expressions of interest from scholars at any stage in their career, including graduate students.  Questions may be sent to the editors at the address above.

We look forward to hearing from you!
