The International Society for Landscape, Place, & Materials Culture is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2015 Awards:
 
 
Fred B. Kniffen Book Award
 
The Fred B. Kniffen Book Award, established in 1989, honors the work of Fred B. Kniffen, a long-time scholar at Louisiana State University. The Kniffen Award recognizes the best-authored book in the field of North American material culture.
 
The 2015 recipient was Thomas Carter, professor emeritus of the University of Utah, for his book, Building Zion: The Material World of Mormon Settlement. Minneapolis: University of Minnesota Press, 2015.
 
 
 
ISLPMC Historic Preservation Award
 
The Historic Preservation Award, established in 2000, recognizes the preservation, interpretation, instruction, celebration, or exhibit of American material culture.
 
The 2015 recipient was Historic Zoarsville for its ongoing efforts to preserve and restore historic Zoar Village, a 19th century communal society of German religious dissenters in Zoar, Ohio.
 
 
The 2015 Historic Preservation Certificate of Merit recipient was the May 4 Visitors Center at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, for its efforts to interpret and preserve the events of May 4, 1970.

No Henry H. Douglas Distinguished Service Award, no Allen G. Noble Book Award, no Warren E. Roberts Graduate Student Paper Competition Award, and no Wilhelm-Keiffer Student Research Award were presented in 2015.
