Meet the Editors
My research focuses on Modern African History and its global entanglements, the maritime world, and early film. Currently I am working on the history of nautical charts during the first wave of globalization and on the history of Rubondo Island in Lake Victoria (Tanzania), which conservationists in the 1960s and 1970s used as a refuge for endangered animal species. I became an editor for H-Maritime since I believe that the communication between scholars from all over the globe holds great potential to generate new ideas and to overcome the narrowness of Eurocentric and national perspectives.
