H-Maritime Call for Syllabi

Dear Colleagues,

Hello! I am one of H-Maritime's newest crops of network editors, and I have very much enjoyed learning about the community that has gathered here over the last few months. This post is beginning one of what we hope will be a number of efforts to build a database of easily-accessible resources for the learning and teaching of maritime history here on H-Net: gathering the syllabi of courses which focus on maritime history or aspects of maritime life and culture as examples and resources for others, along the lines of similar resource pages hosted by networks including H-German, H-Asia, and H-Material Culture.

Please click here for a Google form which will allow me to collect syllabi documents and information from you. We encourage you only to upload syllabi of your own making, unless you have explicit permission from a former instructor to share their work in this forum. Once we have received a few submissions, I will put together the front-facing page that will share the courses' details and files.

As a reminder to all users, you can initiate the process of adding a research resource directly to the "Resources" tab page by choosing "Resources Tab" under 'Context' when creating a new Discussion post. See the Resources tab for a list of standard resource types which you can also add as a Keyword to your post. This may be a useful forum within which to share individual volumes or tools you would suggest others use in their teaching of maritime history, if you do not have a full syllabus available.

Thank You,

Caroline Marris
