I am organizing several panels for the SSHA Labor Network for the 44th Annual Meeting of the Social Science History Association in Phoenix, November 8-11, 2018. I am still seeking panelists and commentators for panels on the following topics.

NEW FRONTIERS IN LABOR ORGANZING/ALTERNTIVE FORMS OF ORGANIZING: Topics could include how workers are organizing outside of labor unions and how unions are utilizing new strategies to deal with adverse political climates.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY: As a couple of the papers for the panel already include gender, I am particularly interested in papers that also include gender. However, papers on any aspect of occupational health are welcome.

QUEERING LABOR: Topics could include how unions have addressed sexual identity and sexual desire, possibilities for increasing LGBTQ rights alongside labor justice, and many others. I currently have a paper on LGBTQ representation in the UAW.

Papers from any region, time period, or aspect of the topics are welcome

Individual papers on the intersection of civil rights and labor have been submitted. I'm looking for an additional paper and commentator to fill out the panel

The deadline for submissions is now March 1st. The call for papers is available at https://ssha.org/files/2018%20SSHA%20Call%20for%20Papers.pdf
Contact Amanda Walter (av9699@wayne.edu) if interested in participating in any of these panels.

Does it have to be a "paper" on New Frontiers in Labor Organizing? I have a new book out, Don't Trump on Us: Making Our Unions Great Again that covers this topic in the "adverse" climate.
