California Italian Studies CFP Issue 1, Volume 12 (2023): Calvino’s Memos: Between the Old and the New Millennium

California Italian Studies is seeking submissions for its thematic Issue 1 of Volume 12 entitled "Calvino’s Memos: Between the Old and the New Millennium to be published in 2023.*

Issue Editors: Lucia Re (UCLA) and Anna Botta (Smith College).

For this issue, we are looking for comparative and interdisciplinary essays written in English or Italian inspired by or related to the ideas and/or the works of Italo Calvino (1923-1985), in particular (but not exclusively) his Memos for the Next Millennium (1988).

CFP: UCLA European Languages Graduate Student Conference

Dear all,

The UCLA Department of European Languages and Transcultural Studies (ELTS) invites abstract submissions for its 2nd annual Graduate Student Conference.

The conference, entitled Permanence & Decay, will take place on May 23-24, 2022 and will explore the areas of permanence and decay from the point of view of Francophone, Italian, Germanic, or Scandinavian studies. Applicants are invited to submit a 250-word abstract by February 20th, 2022.

The JDC Archives is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for its 2022 fellowship program. In 2022, 6-7 fellowships will be awarded to senior scholars, postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and independent researchers to conduct research in the JDC Archives, either in New York or in Jerusalem.
