Attending academic conferences as a grad student and early in your academic career is crucial. With opportunities to present your research, receive valuable feedback, and network with colleagues and potential employers, going to conferences can be a huge career boost.

Don’t let a lack of funds get in the way of advancing your career. If you’d like to present your research at a conference, but don’t have the resources to attend, apply for the Conference & Research Grant from the Institute for Humane Studies.

The IHS Conference & Research Grant can provide up to $750 to cover travel costs and fees for career-related expenses like:

·      Presentations at academic or professional conferences

·      Travel to academic job interviews on a campus or at professional/academic conferences

·      Submission of unpublished manuscripts to journals or book publishers

·      Expenses associated with trips to archives to collect additional research data

Applications are considered on a rolling basis and must be submitted at least four weeks in advance of your fundable activity. For more information and to apply, visit the IHS Conference and Research Grant web page: https://www.theihs.org/conference-and-research-grant-hnet
