Postdoctoral Fellow, Active Learning Initiative, History

The History Department at Cornell seeks to hire 2 postdoctoral scholars for three-year positions starting July 1, 2022, as a part of the Active Learning Initiative in Cornell’s College of Arts & Sciences. Candidates should have obtained their PhD in History (or a related field) within the last five years and should ideally be trained also in the digital humanities including GIS, public history curation techniques, and related skills.
The two postdocs will work closely with faculty on infusing courses with active learning techniques by helping develop active learning activities, syllabi, teaching materials for Canvas, rubrics for assessments, and materials for discussion and course projects. We are looking for candidates with a commitment to generating inclusive classroom environments that actively engage diverse student populations in our courses.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants eligible for the 2022-23 academic year include PhD candidates who received the PhD degree after 2019 and no later than June 2022. International applicants are welcome to apply, contingent upon visa eligibility.
