African and African American Studies | Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies
The Departments of African and African American Studies (AAAS) and Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGS) invite applications for the Florence Levy Kay Postdoctoral Fellowship in Black Feminist Studies with the rank of Lecturer, 2022-2024. This is a two-year position beginning in Fall 2022. This position responds to student demand in this area, and complements a robust scholarly community anchored by our colleague in AAAS/WGS Professor Shoniqua Roach. As such, we are particularly interested in candidates whose scholarly and pedagogical engagements in Black Feminist Studies are centered in or include expertise in one of the following areas: Art, Education, Health Science, Science and Technology, Environmental and Climate Justice, and Geography. The successful candidate will teach courses in their area of specialization as well as core courses such as “Black Feminist Thought” housed in one or both departments – for a total of two courses each year. We expect that the candidate will have received the PhD by August 2022 and demonstrate excellence as a scholar and teacher. The fellowship includes a salary of $62,000 plus benefits, with moving expenses (around $1,500), and a research fund of $4,000 per year.
