We are happy to re-announce the 8th biennial conference of the Afroeuropeans Network in Brussels from 22 to 24 September 2022 and hope you will respond as enthusiastically as you did in 2021!

The conference focuses on Intersectional Challenges in Afroeuropean Communities and aims to be a conference for, by, and with Afroeuropeans, with the contribution of their allies and in dialogue with other marginalised groups.

This email invites you to (re)submit proposals for panels and papers related to one of the conference streams, which address a range of disciplines and topics, from the arts to urbanisation and from decolonisation to political representation. Contributors and panel convenors are encouraged to consider alternative performative formats alongside academic papers. When re-submitting an approved panel, please indicate this in your correspondence. More information can be found at www.afroeuropeans2022.com.

We look forward to receiving your proposals for panels or papers by 28 March 2022. The organising committee, in collaboration with the stream convenors, will communicate their decisions by 30 April 2022.

Please feel free to share this invitation with your network.
