Discover the unique workings of Gamelan.

Recently declared a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, GAMELAN has been deeply appreciated by locals and foreigners for decades. The unique workings of melody, elaboration, and tempo density have fascinated and challenged many generations.
Dr. Kathryn "Kitsie" Emerson - gamelan performer and researcher since 1991 - will offer an engaging and accessible introduction  with plenty of musical examples.

The lecture is part of the Indonesian Heritage Society (IHS) Evening Lecture Series and will be held on Tuesday, 22 March via Zoom at 7 pm Jakarta time.
