The Covid Collections Project emerged from a meeting of the Historical Approaches to Covid working group in 2020. The project seeks to catalog the many archival, oral history, museum, and other collecting and documentation projects that sprang up around Covid in the past year and a half. With a team from New York University and the University of Delaware, we have been identifying such projects and then sending them a brief survey about their work, with the ultimate goal of creating a publicly accessible website that will help researchers find collections (and help curators and archivists find each other).

Our aim is for this project to document and describe collections all around the world. While we have already located over 1000 collecting organizations and curators, the bulk of our data is from the US and Europe. In order to make our collection tracking efforts more robust and representative, we are seeking global participants to share and fill out our survey. The survey is has been translated into multiple languages and can also be auto-translated into any Qualtrics-supported language. We would deeply appreciate your assistance in circulating our survey to institutions and individual collectors within your networks.

Please let us know if you have any questions. You can reach any of us individually, or you can write to us collectively at covid.collections@nyu.edu. Thank you very much in advance for your help.
