This is a Call for Papers that address two current areas of academic interest: Food Studies and studies of the American Dream. Interest in Food Studies has skyrocketed across multiple disciplines in recent years. American Dream studies, while experiencing a period of dormancy from the 1970's to the millennia, have had a vital resurgence over the last two decades. Our Call invites you to unite these two areas of contemporary scholarship by proposing an idea for a paper of 4,500 - 6,000 words. Our plan is to publish a collection of papers with a highly regarded academic press.

Who We Are. We teach social sciences and humanities at a liberal arts college, Saint Martin's University, and regularly publish in sociology and literature. Between us, we have published a dozen monographs or collections with academic publishers, four of them co-edited literary volumes which we have published together.

If interested, here's what you need to do. Send a 250-500 word abstract of your proposed paper (of, ultimately, 4,500-6,000 words) and your c.v. to both of us at: rhauhart@stmartin.edu. and jbirkenstein@stmartin.edu on or before January 15, 2022. You will receive a prompt notification of receipt.

Questions? Please email us at rhauhart@stmartin.edu and jbirkenstein@stmartin.edu. We will respond promptly.
