Sainsbury Institute Undergraduate Essay Prize in Japanese Art History 
Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Japanese Arts and Cultures (UK) is pleased to announce its inaugural Undergraduate Essay Prize in Japanese Art History. The Prize will be awarded to the best undergraduate student paper in Japanese art history or related field and will recognize the author’s exceptional academic promise and scholarly potential. 
We welcome submissions from undergraduate students from any university worldwide.
The winner will receive an award of 500 GBP, and the runner-up of 250 GBP, and they will have an opportunity to present their work to the academic community of the Sainsbury Institute and the Centre of Japanese Studies at the University of East Anglia. In addition, the winner will be offered a scholarship of half of domestic tuition fees for the MA course in Interdisciplinary Japanese Studies (University of Easy Anglia, https://www.uea.ac.uk/course/postgraduate/ma-interdisciplinary-japanese-studies). 
Submissions should include:

-       an abstract of 250 words
-       essay of up to 5000 words (Times New Roman, 12 pt., double-spaced) 
-       illustrations and references 
-       current CV

Please submit all documents as a single PDF file (not to exceed 10 MB) per email to sisjac@sainsbury-institute.org. All submissions must be in English. Submission deadline is May 31, 2022, and the winner will be announced by the end of June.
