Call for Papers: Festschrift in honour of Professor Emerita A. I. Odejide (Deadline 31st December, 2021)

Professor Emerita Abiola Ibidunni Odejide is an internationally acclaimed academic, administrator, consultant and leading voice in Communication and Language Arts Studies with special research interest in Children’s Literature, Higher Education, Gender Issues and Language Teaching. The depth of her work in these research areas, as well as her administrative acumen is evinced in some of the positions she held as: Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), University of Ibadan 2004-2006; Director, Distance Learning Centre, University of Ibadan; Principal Investigator, University of Ibadan  John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation Grant on Gender Mainstreaming Project from 2007-2011; Chair, University of Ibadan  John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation Grant Implementation Committee on Distance Learning, 2000-2006; President, International Board on Books for Young People (Nigeria Chapter); Coordinator, Women’s Research and Documentation Centre, University of Ibadan. She is a  Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Letters (2011) and member of many other professional bodies, associations and societies.

She has taught and mentored many students, many of whom have distinguished themselves nationally and globally in their chosen careers as: Professors, Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Directors of Establishments, and Heads of Departments among others. She has contributed immensely to extending the frontiers of knowledge, and has published widely in her areas of interest. This impassioned visionary of a better Nigeria and international scholar has to her credit well over 60 publications in journals and books.

A festschrift in honour of the renowned scholar will afford academics the rare opportunity of engaging with her work, while providing a platform for students and researchers to appreciate the depth of her scholarship and contribution to knowledge. We, therefore, welcome contributions in any of Prof Odejide’s areas of research interest or related subjects.
