2016 CIEPO Article Prize
The Comité International des Études Pré-ottomanes et Ottomanes is pleased to announce a call for submissions to the 2016 CIEPO Article Prize. This prize will be awarded for the best original article in a field of pre- Ottoman and/or Ottoman studies, written and published by a young scholar. The prize is awarded once every two years and carries a cash prize of €1000.
Articles submitted for consideration for the 2016 Prize must have been published in a scholarly journal or collected volume of articles between October 1, 2013 and October 1, 2015, and have been published within 3 years of receiving the PhD. Articles "in press" may be submitted in page proof form accompanied by a letter of acceptance from the editor.
Submissions by multiple authors will be accepted as long as all authors meet the submission requirements.
The prize will be awarded at the next CIEPO meeting after the closing date of submission. The first article prize was awarded at the 2014 CIEPO meeting, held in Budapest, October 7-11, 2014. The second article prize will be awarded at the 2016 CIEPO meeting, to be held in Trabzon, October 4-8, 2016.
All materials are to be submitted electronically, sent as email attachments to Professor Claudia Römer (claudia.roemer@univie.ac.at). The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2015.
Submission requirements include:
 - a PDF copy of the article or the page proofs, including the title page and the Table of Contents of the journal/collected volume in which it was/is being published
 - If the article is in proof form, a letter of acceptance from the editor of the journal/collected volume should also be submitted.
-  a current curriculum vitae of the author(s)
- Articles must be in one of the recognized CIEPO languages: English, French, German or Turkish.
