The Public Education Project (PEP) of the Society for History in the Federal Government announces the launch of its official website. The main purpose of the PEP is to further public knowledge of federal history and reframe it to emphasize the mosaic of federal agencies that have carried out government policies since 1789. The website includes a portal to the history pages maintained by almost 250 federal agencies and a suite of short, original videos on selected agencies. It will also serve as a platform for PEP's main projects: a nationwide historical messaging campaign; and a program to foreground federal history in K-12 school curricula.
