The program in British, Irish and Empire Studies at the University of Texas at Austin announces the second in a series of five virtual sessions on the theme "Black Britain." "Forgotten Lives: The Individual and the Archive in Eighteenth- and Nineteenth-Century Black British History" will convene at 12 noon CDT (6 p.m. GMT), Thursday, October 21, 2021, via Zoom. Featured speakers will be Gretchen Gerzina, University of Massachetts, Amherst, and Ryan Hanley, Exeter University. Helena Woodard, University of Texas at Austin, will chair. After brief presentations by the speakers, audience members will join the discussion.
