To mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Edward Poynings on 22 October 2021: Professor James Kelly (Department of History, DCU) will give a lecture entitled ‘Ridiculous and absurd: The impact of Poynings’ Law on the making of law in eighteenth-century Ireland’.
