Call for Papers for the Edited Book on African American Studies
We would like to invite you to contribute a chapter in an edited book, designed for use in the undergraduate classroom, focusing on the African American experience. The African American Experience: From Slavery to Liberation will be published by Eastern Kentucky University Libraries. This book is intended to give both instructors of African American studies and college students a comprehensive and up-to-date account of African American’s cultural and political history, economic development, artistic expressiveness, religious and philosophical worldviews, etc. The editors welcome scholarly submission from academics and researchers in the field. Please consult the list of topics below and submit a 300-word abstract of your proposed paper to Joshua Farrington (joshua.farrington@eku.edu) or Gwen Graham gwen.graham@eku.edu on or before January 15, 2018. If your proposal is accepted, you will be requested to submit a complete essay by the end of spring 2018. Papers must be original and should not be previously published or simultaneously been reviewed elsewhere for publication. All manuscripts will be subject to a peer-review process before they are accepted for publication. More details on the paper submission process will be provided once your proposal has been accepted.
