A Symposium on the 50th Anniversary of the
Voting Rights Act of 1965
On November 14, 2015, Utica College’s Center for Historical Research will host a day long symposium to examine the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and its era. Six scholars will discuss this landmark legislation and the remarkable era from which it sprang. Rather than following typical conference format, each presenter will have one hour to deliver his or her work and exchange ideas with the audience. Our intention is for presenter and audience alike to gain a greater understanding of the Voting Rights Act and its era through an extended discussion.
Location: ECJS Building on the Utica College campus
