On behalf of the Colonial Society of Massachusetts, the editors of the New England Quarterly proudly announce the publication of Professor Cornelia Dayton's 2020 Whitehill Prize Essay: “Lost Years Recovered: John Peters and Phillis Wheatley Peters in Middleton” in its September 2021 issue. We also note that on September 21, Professor Dayton will discuss her essay at the Pauline Maier Early American History Seminar at the Massachusetts Historical Society on an online panel to discuss the essay. Panelists are Vincent Carretta, the University of Maryland, Tara Bynum, University of Iowa, and Joseph Rezek, Boston University.
