Call for Papers - Deadline Extended

Title: Peer Review and the Pandemic
Deadline: 31 September 2021

How has the COVID-19 pandemic affected the peer review process?  Or the expert review of grant applications?  How have pandemic-related changes in peer review affected research on the virus and its impact on society?  How has this impacted publication of research on other subjects?  What strategies or innovations have been introduced to address problems in the peer review system during the pandemic?  How have authors, publishers, editors and reviewers adapted to changes in working conditions and workflow?  Have some researchers and reviewers been more seriously impacted by the pandemic and life in lockdown?  What are the long-term implications of the pandemic for researchers and peer reviewers?

This collection aims to build an evidence base of data and analysis on 'Peer Review and the Pandemic', so that we can begin to understand the true impact of COVID-19 on research and researchers.  The aim is to support and accelerate research and debate on the topic by providing rapid, open access publication with links to all underlying data.  F1000Research encourages submissions of a wide range of article types, including case studies, data notes, method articles, opinion articles, software tools, and study protocols, as well as research articles and reviews.  Each article will undergo fully transparent post-publication peer review following the F1000Research publication model

Peer Review and the Pandemic is now open for submissions; the deadline is December 31st, 2021.  Articles featured in this collection will also be included in the Research on Research, Policy & Culture gateway on F1000Research.  To submit a paper, click here.  If you have any other questions, please contact us at research@f1000.com.
