Urdu Studies, annual bilingual (English and Urdu) research journal of the Deparment of Urdu, Jai Prakash University, Chapra, India is seeking articles for future issues, some, but not all of which are thematic.If you or your advanced students have articles that you would like to reach a new audience, the journal circulates both in India and in e-form through academia.edu

In some cases, revised papers that are not easily available to a global audience in current form may be submitted for consideration.

Urdu Studies is a bilingual (English and Urdu) Research Journal published annually in the form of thematic book series (kitabi silsila) by Prof. Arshad Masood Hashmi, Head, Department of Urdu, Jai Prakash University, Chapra (India). Its first issue published in February 2019 contains research papers related to postcolonial Urdu studies written by Mehr Afshan Farooqui, Zehra Mehdi, Najeeba Arif, Shahnaz Nabi, Maula Bakhsh, Nasir Abbas Naiyyar, Huzaifa Pandit, Shahab Zafar and Arshad Masood Hashmi.

The English Section of the second issue contains research papers written by  Prof. David Lelyveld, Professor of History (Retired), William Paterson University, New Jersey, the United States Prof. Marcia Hermansen, Director, Islamic World Studies; Professor, Theology Department, Loyola University, Chicago Prof. Najeeba Arif, Chairperson, Department of Urdu, International Islamic University, Islamabad Prof. Agnieszka Kuczkiewicz- Fras, Chair for East and South Asia, Institute of the Middle and Far East, Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland.
