The Hamlin Garland Prize honors the best work in popular history about the Midwest (defined as IL, IA, IN, KS, MI, MN, MO, OH, NE, ND, SD and WI).  The work can be either article or book length.  Article and book submissions should be made no later than February 1, 2018, of works published in calendar 2017.  Winners will be announced at this year's conference in Grand Rapids, MI.  Please send book nominations to all three committee members:
