Hello,

My name is Emma Taylor and I am a PhD student from Queen's University Belfast. My research traces the historical memory of disguised female Civil War soldiers. I plan to attend the SHA 2022 conference which is planned to be held in Baltimore, Maryland on November 10-13th, 2022. The conference's theme is "Southern History Now! Upheavals, Reckonings, and Reimagings."

I am hoping to submit a full panel proposal based on an overall theme of "Alternative Southern Perspectives on War and Conflict." My paper focuses on how disguised female soldiers experienced the Civil War.

The panel's broad theme lends itself well to papers that focus on military history, the Civil Rights era, social history, LGBTQ+ history, women's history, and a range of other related topics. I hope to form a diverse panel, if you are interested please contact me through email at etaylor13@qub.ac.uk or via twitter at @EmmaTaylor94. The deadline for proposals to SHA 2022 is Septemeber 15th, 2021. For those interested in forming a panel please reach out in advance of this date.

Hope to hear from you soon, best wishes.
