The first European Biennale of local history to be held at Tulle, Corrèze from 10-12 Sept. 2021 explores the contribution of territories and local actors to the construction of our societies in a Europe open to the world. This first edition is devoted to The 1950s in Europe, with a focus on themes of economic transformation, the modernisation of agriculture and rural society, mass political movements, the illusion of women's emancipation, the revolution in sports, or the development of popular music and new forms of entertainment. Three days of debates, conferences, round tables, exhibitions, film scrreenings, regional hisotry book fairs, will feature interventions by historians, personalities from the political, cultural and professional worlds from different European countries. The event combines scientifc rigour, the democratisation of knowledge and citizen participation.
