Global Connections: Critical Holocaust Education in a Time of Transition
September 1 - 3, 2015 at the University of Victoria, BC (Canada)
https://onlineacademiccommunity.uvic.ca/globalconnections/
Seventy years after the end of WWII, this conference examines global connections in Holocaust education in two distinct ways: by highlighting the personal and professional relationships forged across the globe when researching and memorializing the Shoah and by examining the relationship between Holocaust education and other contemporary and historical issues and events. As the Shoah becomes increasingly distant history with fewer survivors around to tell their stories and share their living memory, conference participants delve into critical questions about the relevance and impact of Holocaust education in today’s world.
The conference program is posted on the website (under "Conference Schedule"). Please contact globalconnections@uvic.ca if you have any questions.
