The Body and Culture Area of the Popular Culture Association is issuing a call for papers that explore this broad and interdisciplinary topic.  The Body and Culture Area encourages dialogue between various fields over the body as text, both literal and discursive, and how the body’s production of meaning is socially, culturally, historically, and politically located.  Papers should address the meanings culture writes onto bodies, the origin of those meanings, and the impact those meanings have on bodies so inscribed.

Papers across disciplines, cultural contexts, and historical periods are welcome.  Abstracts should be submitted to: http://ncp.pcaaca.org
