#SoundCon (http://SoundConference.org) is a live online conference at YouTube LIVE! and network at Facebook for innovative sound makers, thinkers, and listeners from around the world. It is a peer-reviewed conference and is curated by global leaders in the fields of art, activism, and academics.

The conference theme for #SoundCon: Jan 16-17, 2016, occurring live online at http://YouTube.com/Live is "Sounds of Liberation." In this time of climate change, #BlackLivesMatter, immigration and criminal justice reform, legalization of same-sex marriage, and global uprisings for justice and independence across the globe... artists, activists, and academics are making sounds of and for liberation. We invite applications from the global community on this or a related theme to join #SoundCon as a Presenter, Facilitator, Conference Committee Member, Promoter, and/or Intern.

We ask all potential #SoundCon applicants to consider the ways in which their artistic, activist, and/or academic work speaks to the theme of "Sounds of Liberation," if possible, and we invite participation in a variety of formats: Talks, Teach-Ins, Panels, Workshops, Performances, Exhibitions, Listening Sessions, Discussions, Caucuses, Fieldtrips, or another proposed format.

Presentations are 15 minutes maximum, including time for Q&A, on YouTube LIVE! with conversations continuing after on the #SoundCon network on Facebook. All presentations will be recorded live online via a Smartphone, Tablet, or Computer webcam via Google Hangouts (https://plus.google.com/hangouts).  Please propose and plan your presentation accordingly.

A Gmail.com email address, computer or phone webcam, and experience broadcasting over the Google Hangouts app (for Smartphone, Tablet, or Computer) is required for presentation. Non-presenting conference attendees will need a Gmail.com email address, a YouTube.com channel, and a Facebook.com profile to fully participate.

Register and apply to #SoundCon at: http://SoundConference.org.

Call for Presenters, Committee, and Promoters for #SoundCon closes October 16, 2015. Call for Attendees for #SoundCon closes January 1, 2016.
