We’re delighted to announce the launch of our series, with the release of our first titles Information Regimes During the Cold War in East Asia edited by Jason Morgan, and Visual Representations of the Cold War and Postcolonial Struggles: Art in East and Southeast Asia, edited by Midori Yamamura and Yu-Chieh Li. Our third title The Southeast Asia Treaty Organisation, by Ang Cheng Guan will be published in September this year. We’re also looking forward to several new titles in 2022, which we’ll be revealing nearer the time.
The Cold War in Asia is a series of books that explores and addresses the impact of the twentieth century ideological conflict between communism and capitalism on the countries and peoples of Asia. Quality is our goal and this series reflects this objective by catering for work drawn for a number of disciplines.
If you’re working in the broad field of Cold War studies and undertaking research centred on Asia then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the series editor Professor Malcolm Murfett (malcolm.murfett@kcl.ac.uk). Books, both single-authored and edited collections, should preferably be within the 60,000 - 100,000-word range, although we are also interested in shorter studies (25,000-50,000 words).
