Panel for young scholars in the context of the conference

"Gelebte Aufklärung. Johann Georg Sulzer (1720-1779) in Context"

Halle an der Saale, 18-20 May 2022

For the planned conference "Gelebte Aufklärung. Johann Georg Sulzer (1720-1779) in Context" (Halle an der Saale, 18-20 May 2022), organised by Elisabeth Décultot and Jana Kittelmann, we would like to announce a panel of four papers, primarily for young scholars.

The conference aims to discuss Johann Georg Sulzer's multifaceted work in a historical context and with a view to current issues of Enlightenment research across disciplines, media and genres.

We welcome case studies on source material, writings and works, and approaches placing Sulzer in general thematic fields as well as in scholarly, cultural and social practices of his time. Proposals for contributions that discuss how other writings, ideas, approaches etc. intersect with Sulzer's work and ideas can also be submitted.

The conference committee will decide on the acceptance of contributions.
Travel and accommodation costs will be covered.

Interested parties are invited to send their proposal with a short abstract by 25 July 2021 to:
