The 2015 Board for the Kentucky Association of Teachers of History (KATH) seeks volunteers to serve as judges for the KATH Student Writing Awards for 2015. KATH sponsors four writing awards for students each year – two of which are specifically for undergraduates and one for graduate students attending Kentucky postsecondary institutions. The high school award submissions are typically gathered from those sent in to the Kentucky Historical Society for the National History Day competition at the statewide level. See more information about the KATH student writing awards 2015 in a recent blog post at the KATH-online.org website.
Since 1976 KATH has served as a service organization for those concerned about improving the quality of history education in Kentucky and offers opportunities to network and to experience professional development events, especially through our annual conference. In this way we hope to improve the scope and quality of teaching history throughout Kentucky. KATH is unique in that it is not controlled by any one agency or institution. We rely on volunteers and believe in collaboration and cooperation among all levels of instruction.
Your contribution as a scholar in judging the research paper submissions is highly appreciated by KATH - and the many award winners and their faculty who have been celebrated these past several decades. Please contact the KATH Awards 2015 Committee Chairs to volunteer.
