“Global Storytelling: Journal of Digital and Moving Images” to invite you to submit a proposal for NARRATING COLD WARS – A MULTIDISCIPLINARY CONFERENCE to be held in Hong Kong Baptist University on 11-12 November 2021. (https://narratingcoldwars.wixsite.com/hkbu)

The Conference invites proposals for a multidisciplinary conference critically examining “Cold War” thinking, both historically and as a construct for understanding contemporary global rivalries.

In particular, we are keen to include papers that critically examine and problematize Cold War narratives; their production and circulation among foreign policy professionals as well as in academia, media, and culture; their broader influence on contemporary ways of thinking; and their continued use in the 21st century.

Especially welcome are interdisciplinary papers that draw connections among fields such as international relations, international communications studies, journalism, cinema and television studies, cultural studies, and the visual arts.

Selected papers will be published in the special issue of Global Storytelling – Journal of Digital and Moving Images (Issue 2.2).

If you think you have a related project, please consider sending us an abstract at cmcr@hkbu.edu.hk.

The deadline of submitting abstracts is 1 July 2021.

We believe that your contribution will be an exciting addition to the conference and/or the journal. We look forward to hearing from you.
